Consumed 07:25
Your face is hiding deep inside my mind Your touch is on my tongue Your face is the deepest depths of my eyes The eyes inside my soul Once I was free, but now I am trapped Once I was trapped, but now I am free I taste the tears you bled I felt the fears you shed You thought I did not feel You thought I could not taste Consumed, escape through dreams Consumed, trapped by dreams Consumed, forever it seems Do you feel the pain that I feel? The pain that lives inside Do you wear the chains that I wear The ones that rub me raw Every time it is the same three words Every time the number speaks And when you see me and you think I am there You will know that it is just a dream
2.
I saw you, you saw me, you hid your fangs so well I should have known better but it is hard to tell In beauty the evil is waiting for possession Deep inside reflections just a glimpse away Your faithful servents, they bow to you Together they're breaking the broken We were set free, what is to be? When its all said and done what is left to really say? To be one turns to none now we are just yesterday You speak in killing words, the kind that crush and kill No mercy your pleasure to taste the blood you bled The chase has ended in denial of glory To trap and add to your servant souls
3.
And when life seems to be complete It comes and knocks us off our feet The element of surprise The avengeful attack Straight on your back it will send you Into a state of deja-vu Here it comes one more time Showing its ugly face Assaulting the senses Screaming into the mind Premeditating master plans No need to underestimate Prepare for what you cannot see Expect the unexpected And you will save yourself a state of shock A waiting game, waiting to see Expect the unexpected And you will save yourself a state of shock Another lesson learned to go with the others That sit and wait to see A silent voice It doesn't matter who you are In this sense we're all the same To taste tranquility would be ecstasy I'm holding on with all my might To this ride we call life Strapped down to clarity Suprised no more
4.
What If... 04:29
So there they stood On a mountain, revealing their wisdom While taking in all that earth had to give to them And what it hid, secrets that shadows of time concealed What if when they saw burning stars They thought it was a gift from beyond far Look close between the lines Beyond what you believe to be real Are they just theories of time Behold the tooth of yesterday It holds the truth to set you free From history some live their lives Not long ago we looked at power as just a vision To shatter dark with just a beam of light It might be worth to take a close look at infinity
5.
A tool to do good has gone bad Electric altar for a new religion A new way to link A new way to think Individual thoughts that have become missing Laugh at my words you fool They will soon become living truth Look at yourself in the mirror Reflection is living proof What will they do when the link they live becomes missing? Will they survive? When the link they breathe becomes missing When we see the face of evil It will be the demon reality
6.
Believe 06:09
Do you believe what some might say can't be could be reality Let seven be the one for me; six chapters of life laced with mystery... Awaiting discovery Immune you become a war to be won the soul of a voice... Let the voice of the soul be free For most it does not come easily For some it comes with pain From a thought to a living sight For some it's a life for some a game There are things in life worth fighting for And some things are better off let go A dream secured long ago or yesterday Close to the top there's no looking down When you believe Do you believe? If you believe You must believe! If I was paid for disappointments I would be a wealthy man The magic lives in sincerity, in truth, behind the thoughts I choose to stand... Awaiting discovery
7.
Cut Down 04:50
I see right through your mind I see your kind, I know your game Surviving on the soul of a song Please tell me how you escape From the guilt that should eat at your mind When you lay down to sleep So many precious lives lost Picking up the shattered dreams broken by you You'll be cut down to size when we're done with you When you're cut down to size we will look down on you Why is life a game where we are forced to play I think it's safe to assume Don't feed off a loss or a win The reward is to survive As you breathe you abuse the gift of life Inhaling hope into your black heart No guilt no shame once again empty words are to blame
8.
Same place, different time, same chase A different line A chance to heal, to allow what's real To take its course Like a brush in hand, to paint a picture Of what we would like to see And love to be The vision is clear, taking charge of fear For granted I do not take the future To be changed by triumph Tears and pain of the past I gain wisdom The fragile art of existence Is kept alive by sheer persistence The fragile art of existence No time for self-pity No time for dwelling on what should have been But is yet to be Take the plunge, take the chance Safe in the heart and soul from elements Spawned by those void of no self-worth And no sense of dreams

about

CONTROL DENIED, the progressive heavy metal brainchild of legendary guitarist Chuck Schuldiner, released its first and only album The Fragile Art of Existence (’99) to massive critical acclaim. The Fragile Art… is the sound of traditional metal stepping into a new century; an album where the experiences and inspirations of trail-blazing, world-class musicians coalesced under the watchful eye of one of the genre’s master craftsmen. Remastered, repackaged and featuring over an hour of previously unreleased material (extra tracks and early demos), this is the definitive edition of this timeless classic.

about

Control Denied Tampa, Florida

Control Denied was started by Chuck Schuldiner to create a European-style power metal/progressive metal band, mixed with elements of death metal recognizable in his earlier band Death. The band was first started in 1996 as Schuldiner wanted to create a slightly more melodic style than was possible with Death.
